Policies and Payment Links
Appointment Policy
We work by appointment and try very hard not to keep you waiting. If your pet has a serious problem, however, we will see you immediately. We appreciate your understanding if someone else’s emergency causes us to be late for your appointment.
Patient Arrival Policy
For everyone’s safety, please keep your pet on a leash or in a carrier at all times.
Emergencies
We work hard to provide the best service possible to you at all times. To ensure the highest quality of emergency care, we refer our clients to Columbus Veterinary Emergency Service/Med Vet after office hours. Emergencies that occur during office hours will be handled as priorities at Avery Animal Hospital. In any emergency, call our office 24 hours a day, and you will receive instructions of how to obtain help.
Consulting Specialists
To ensure that your pet receives the best treatment available, we maintain consulting relationships with Board Certified Specialists in radiology, orthopedic and soft tissue surgery, dermatology, ophthalmology, pathology, animal behavior, and internal medicine. When specialized treatment is required, we will refer your pet to the appropriate specialist.
Payment Policy
Our hospital represents a substantial commitment to the community and is supported solely by fees collected. Fees are determined based on the amount of time spent with your pet, the professional skills employed, and tests performed. We ask that payment be made in full at the time service is rendered. If for some reason you are unable to pay your bill, please inform the doctor before services are provided so that payment arrangements may be considered. We accept cash, checks, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express and Care Credit. For more information about care credit or for applications please go to: http://www.carecredit.com/ or ask one of our receptionists.

Medications
The wrong medications given at the wrong time can be detrimental or even fatal to your pet. Always follow label directions precisely and use medications only for the patient for which it is intended. By law, we are unable to refill prescriptions if we have not seen your pet in over a year.
